ビタミンB3は、ナイアシンとも呼ばれ、水溶性ビタミンB群の一つです。 ナイアシンとは、ニコチン酸とニコチン酸アミド（ナイアシンアミドとも呼ばれる）を指します。 ナイアシンは、体内で食物をブドウ糖に変換し、エネルギーを生成するのを助ける栄養素です。 ナイアシンは、神経系の正常な機能と正常な精神機能に寄与し、疲労や倦怠感の軽減にも寄与します。 ナイアシンは、トウモロコシやふすまの朝食用シリアルや小麦粉などの穀物の強化に使用されています。 マルチビタミンやビタミンB複合体の輸液、錠剤、カプセルにもニコチン酸アミドが含まれています。
