Vitamin C is a water-soluble nutrient that has important functions in the body, such as normal function of the immune system, and anti-oxidant capabilities, as well as aiding everything from iron absorption to normal formation of collagen for the normal function of blood vessels, bones, teeth, skin, heart and gums. dsm-firmenich's vitamin C is offered as straight or in granulated product forms depending on the targeted end use. Fruit juices, fruit flavor drinks and breakfast cereals are often enriched with vitamin C.

Vitamin C Production
dsm-firmenich’s Dalry plant in Scotland is the only site to produce ascorbic acid, better known as vitamin C, in the Western world. dsm-firmenich has been producing vitamin C for over 40 years at its Dalry plant, which boasts over 60 years of high-quality nutrient manufacturing for the food and pharmaceutical industries worldwide. Over the years, Dalry has continuously expanded and modernized showing dsm-firmenich’s ongoing commitment to meeting the high-quality requirements of its customers.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), which provides scientific advice to assist policy makers, has confirmed that clear health benefits have been established for the dietary intake of vitamin C in contributing to:
