With her Magical Botanical flavor, Firmenich flavorist Yukiko Ando Ovesen reflects on the way botanical ingredients mirror how people want to go back towards nature in both body and spirit. Her mission is to take people there with plant ingredients and plant proteins fortified by great tasting flavors. Especially today, there is a great need to see nature to relieve stress and dream of a better world.
"For the last two years, I have been in the city, but dreaming of the forests of Hokkaido in Japan. With this dream image I made Magical Botanical Mystic Flavor to recreate the feeling of being in the green forest under a blue sky at dusk. Pine essential oil brought to life the trees, and I used mint for freshness, and mate for a leafy note. It is quiet and relaxing, like the forest."
