DSM announces a change in management of its Personal Care Business Unit. Ilona Haaijer hands over to Wilfrid Gambade, former Director of the DSM Business Unit Composite Resins.

DSM Nutritional Products announces a change in management of its Personal Care Business Unit. Ilona Haaijer who built and lead the unit during the past four years has accepted another appointment within DSM. She hands over to Wilfrid Gambade, former Director of the DSM Business Unit Composite Resins. Wilfrid Gambade becomes Senior Vice President and Member of the Executive Committee, DSM Nutritional Products, reporting to Christoph Goppelsroeder, President & CEO, DSM Nutritional Products, as of 1 March 2014.
Wilfrid Gambade, a French national, holds a degree in chemistry from ITECH, Lyon/F. He started his career in Sales & Marketing and soon acquired experience in the cosmetics industry. Gambade worked for Ciba Specialty Chemicals, amongst other as North American sales head and business responsible for the cosmetics branch. Later, he was Global Business Director at Huntsman where he built a new segment organization. In 2009, he joined Royal DSM as Business Director Europe & Global Market in the Business Unit Composite Resins. 2011 he was appointed to head that Business Unit. As of 1 March 2014, Wilfrid Gambade is Senior Vice President in charge of Personal Care at DSM Nutritional Products.
The Business Unit Personal Care of DSM provides ingredients and innovative solutions for some of the world’s best-selling beauty products. Its scientific backbone combined with local consumer insights result in innovative and transformative ingredients and concepts that build brands and ultimately benefit the consumer. The portfolio emphasizes premium value adding products such as peptides, natural bio-actives, UV filters and vitamins. It is complemented by a range of services in the areas of quality assurance, technical support, regulatory, and by formulation expertise and sensory panels. The business is driven by global mega trends, local consumer insights into beauty regimes and growth in emerging markets. It focuses on the segments Skin Care, Hair Care and Sun Care.
Ilona Haaijer, a Dutch national, holds a Masters degree in Business Economics from the University of Groningen/NL. She started her international career in Marketing & Sales and Product Management at KPN Mobile, proceeding to The Boston Consulting Group where she focused on implementing trans-formational strategies in the consumer goods industry. Later, Haaijer joined Royal Philips Electronics. She was the co-founder of the new division Consumer Health & Wellness and CEO of the Philips/AVENT Business Unit. Since 2010, Haaijer was Senior Vice President and Member of the Executive Committee, DSM Nutritional Products. Her future assignment within DSM will be announced at a later point in time.
