DSM Personal Care’s presence at 2015 PCHI China continues to identify the business unit’s passion to create solutions based on regional beauty aspirations. At booth 3D02 and during the show’s seminars, DSM will be demonstrating how insights generated from the recent consumer research in China resulted in tailor-made solutions in answer to the unmet needs of this important beauty market.

While the power of beauty is universal, the path to revealing beauty is unique. The recent in-depth consumer research conducted in Beijing and Wuhan allowed DSM to deeply explore the beauty aspirations of Chinese women and to deconstruct some key cultural codes that influence the personal care market.

Skin ageing – a prevailing concern among many people – does not follow a universal pattern. The regional variations stipulated by skin’s structural differences of varying ethnicities or, for instance, by cultural beauty beliefs, define anti-ageing skin care priorities in many cases.

The new in-vivo study results conducted with DSM’s powerful synthetic peptide SYN®-COLL among Chinese volunteers revealed new fascinating results. After just one month, a formulation containing 2.5% of SYN®-COLL outperformed a market benchmark in the fight against lines and wrinkles. It also refined pore appearance, improved skin texture and revealed a beautifully-lifted, sculpted look – features usually perceived as being vital for beautiful skin appearance by Chinese women.

Thanks to the research, DSM also gained deeper insights into people’s understanding of how pollution affects their beauty. This calls for a specific solution and DSM will demonstrate its latest launch, REGU®-SCENCE, which addresses the damaging effects of environmental aggression.

REGU®-SCENCE s a China-listed (Inventory of Existing Cosmetic Ingredients) and ECOCERT-approved, natural, standardized bioactive, derived from a fragile white asparagus extract of the Spanish Navarra region. It is grown in the dark and harvested  before sunrise to preserve high levels of saponins which stimulate the skin’s own autophagy capabilities, staving off the damaging effects of pollution. Along with the study results on its outstanding ageing prevention activity, customers will be presented with brand new data, confirming REGU®-SCENCE ability to even out skin tone.

Further details on the latest skin care developments will be presented by the DSM experts at the PCHi Conference.
