The best start in life to all infants

dsm-firmenich at ESPGHAN 2025

Helsinki, May 15th - 17th

At dsm-firmenich, we know life is healthier when it’s supported from the beginning. That’s why we’re committed to delivering high-quality, science-backed, innovative nutritional solutions for moms and babies.

This year at the ESPGHAN Annual Meeting, we are offering a unique opportunity to:

  • Experience and sample our comprehensive portfolio of seven commercially available human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) and discover how our innovative GLYCARE® HMO Blends can enhance your formulations
  • Explore the synergies between HMOs and probiotics for infant health, in collaboration with Lallemand Health Solutions

We’ll be welcoming you at Booth #12 with Dr Bethany Henrick for live talks and scientific discussions the critical role of early-life microbiome composition.

Supporting mothers and infants during the first 1,000 days, between the onset of a woman’s pregnancy and her child’s second birthday, takes more than an ingredient supplier; it takes a partner. As experts in maternal nutrition and essential solutions for early life, dsm-firmenich can help empower women to have healthy pregnancies and provide infants the best start in life.

Join us to explore these innovations and engage in valuable scientific discussions at ESPGHAN 2025.

Dr. Bethany Henrick | Senior Director of Microbiome & Hygiene Research at dsm-firmenich

Dr. Henrick is Senior Director of Microbiome & Hygiene Research at dsm-firmenich. As a trained immunologist, she has a particular interest on how early life microbiome composition influences immune development and shapes disease risk later in life. Previously Dr Henrick investigated how reintroducing ancestral strains of Bifidobacterium into breastfeeding infants impacted immune system programming.

Human Milk Oligosaccharides

Naturally occurring in breast milk, Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs) have evolved over thousands of years, with HMO research suggesting that specific HMOs can provide us with unique health benefits. In particular, HMOs may help support immunity and gut health, with a potential role in cognitive development, which may open future innovation opportunities.

HMO Donation Program

The HMO donation program was established in 2010 to expand the knowledge and support the research in HMOs. All healthcare professionals, researchers and academics interested in the field of Human Milk Oligosaccharide research can apply for HMO donation.

To date, DSM has supported over 100 research projects through the donation program. These projects span 55 different research centers all around the globe. The donation program accesses DSM’s HMO library, which contains nearly 20 different HMO structures and mixtures.
