Health Benefit - China

In 2020, China was home to 80 million osteoporosis patients – of whom 19.2% were over 50. Several campaigns have been launched to raise awareness of bone health in support of the national Healthy China 2030 initiative.

China is undergoing swift growth in its older demographic, particularly in tier 1 cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, where individuals aged over 60 already comprise 25% of the population as of 2022.

With the population expanding and aging, nutritional requirements are evolving, and consumers are placing greater emphasis on "healthy aging," as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as "the process of developing and maintaining the functional ability that enables well-being in older age." Healthy aging is imperative not only for extending lifespan but also for enhancing the quality of life in older age.

China Daily, 30.09.2021

Bone health is a concern for Chinese consumers. In fact, more than 1 in 3 (35%) are worried about their bones and joints.*

Supporting bone health is crucial at every stage of life. In early years, the focus is on the significant accumulation of bone mass during childhood and puberty. As we age, especially in the senior years, prioritizing bone health becomes paramount to minimize the risk of falls and fractures.
In adulthood, it serves as a preventive measure against diseases in later life.

Bones fulfill multiple roles in the body. They provide structure, protect organs, anchor muscles, and store calcium. An adequate and constant intake of certain vitamins and minerals help to ensure strong and healthy bones across all stages of life.
