SYN-AKE® is a small synthetic peptide that helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and laughter lines – fast. Wrinkles on crow’s feet
Measurement of the smoothing (Ra) and anti-wrinkle effect (Rz and Rt) of SYN-AKE® (4%) measured on the crow’s feet after 28 days.
With SYN-AKE® the depth of wrinkles is visibly reduced, and an overall smoother and more even skin surface appears.
Mode of Action
SYN-AKE® is based on a patented mechanism. It mimics the essential amino acid sequence of the Waglerin-1 functionality.
Its effect focuses on an immediate and lasting relaxation of mimic wrinkles. In vitro the peptide cosmetic ingredient is considered as an antagonist at the muscular nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (mnAChR). As the muscular nicotinic ACh receptors are reversibly blocked, the ion channel remains closed. There is no uptake of Na+ and the muscle cells stay relaxed. The transmission of nerve impulses to the muscles is inhibited and facial muscles are relaxed.

By associating the visualization of mothers & daughters, dsm-firmenich shows this aging process: where daughters only show lines in expressive-face mode, mothers already show persistent wrinkles in relaxed-face mode.
By helping to relax the face, SYN-AKE® reduces the appearance of deep wrinkles and when used earlier in time can delay their progression, with an age-freezing effect.
The measurement of SYN-AKE® (4%) effect was compared to a placebo. A cream was applied twice daily for 4 weeks. The study included total of 100 volunteers, 25 volunteers per group.
