Metafolin®

A highly bioavailable form of folate for expectant mothers and infants.

Methylfolate for Maternal Nutrition

At dsm-firmenich, we know that healthy babies start with healthy pregnancies. Low folate status during pregnancy is a risk factor in the development of neural tube defects (NTD) in the fetus. Additionally, high levels of folic acid during gestation are associated with insulin resistance and obesity at 5 years of age. Methylfolate increases blood folate levels to a greater extent than folic acid. Metafolin® for Early Life Nutrition is a highly bioavailable form of folate for expectant mothers.
