Vitamin B9 Übersicht
Vitamin B9 (Folat) ist in einer Vielzahl von Lebensmitteln enthalten, die reichhaltigsten Quellen sind Leber, dunkelgrünes Blattgemüse, Bohnen, Weizenkeime und Hefe. Es ist wichtig, dass wir ausreichend Vitamin B9 - in Form von Folat und Folsäure - zu uns nehmen, denn es hilft bei der Bildung von Nukleinsäuren (z. B. DNA), bei der Bildung von Blutzellen im Knochenmark, um ein schnelles Zellwachstum im Säuglingsalter, in der Pubertät und in der Schwangerschaft zu gewährleisten, und regelt außerdem den Blutspiegel. Folsäure kann einer Vielzahl von Lebensmitteln zugesetzt werden, z. B. Mehl, Salz, Frühstückszerealien sowie Getränken, Softdrinks und Säuglingsnahrungsprodukten.
