An End of Year Message from Kristin Bonham

Dear Customers,

It feels like just yesterday I was sitting down to write to you as we wrapped 2022 and prepared for 2023. While hard to believe, a year has gone by, and 2024 is nearly here. As I reflect on this past year, I think about the excitement within our company as we transitioned to dsm-firmenich, the challenges we’ve faced as an industry, and the wonderful partnerships we’ve continued to develop with you all.

In the August edition of The Digest, I spoke of the transition our company made to one new, combined company, dsm-firmenich. As part of that transition, we created a Vitamin Unit focused on ensuring cost competitiveness and end-to-end efficiency. As the vitamin market continues to face significant headwinds, this new unit is dedicated to continuing to find ways to support you, our customers, including keeping you informed of the latest news within the vitamin market. I encourage you to read our most recent article “Vitamin Market Outlook: Q4 2023” featured in the December issue of The Digest. Continue to look for these articles throughout 2024.

As my team reflected on 2023 and looks ahead to 2024, we are excited about our total solutions portfolio and appreciate the trust you’ve put into our North America Animal Nutrition & Health team. This year, many have had the chance to tour our plants and better connect with our various dsm-firmenich teams like nutritional services. My leadership team and I also have had the chance to meet face-to-face with many of you this year and always find the candid, open discussions we have about the industry, your needs and where your business is headed valuable. Whether we’ve met you at an industry event like IPPE, our dsm-firmenich events The Academy, or one of our Global events like World Nutrition Forum, know that my team and I value those interactions and our discussions. Please continue to share your needs and feedback with our dsm-firmenich team and me.

With the holidays in full swing, I’d like to end this year’s letter on a personal note. For me, the holidays are about a house filled with my three (noisy) teenagers, the laughter and joy of visiting with family and friends, and the delicious smell of my Grandma Quick’s cookies baking in the oven. Her recipe has been a staple in my house since my children were young, and I’m excited to bake these cookies when I return to my parents’ dairy farm for the holidays. It’s also a recipe I love sharing with others. At the end of this letter, you’ll find a copy of that recipe. I’d love for you to bake these cookies with your family and friends this holiday season. I hope you enjoy them as much as my family does!

As always, thank you for your continued partnership. I wish you a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year!

Kristin Bonham,

Vice President, dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health, North America
