Transparency

Measuring today. Shaping tomorrow.

To play a meaningful part in the transition to a more sustainable world, we need to be clear about where we stand now and where we want to be. And data is key to this. Fact.

Target: 100% LCA data on our Perfumery ingredients by 2025

Reliable, complete, accurate data is what’s steering our own and our clients’ carbon reduction targets as we work toward 2045. And we disclose this data in line with regulations and methodologies such as the WBCSD PACT methodology for Carbon Transparency (PACT). Through these disclosures, we further support clients with their sustainability targets, helping to make the industry more transparent than the perfumes we create.

Data-driven decarbonation

Can you say that five times fast? Our comprehensive decarbonization plan extends throughout the Perfumery value chain and is guided by life-cycle assessment (LCA) insights, measuring the environmental impact of a product from gate. LCA provides a consistent picture of a product’s current impact and opportunities for improvement, both now and in the future.

This is how we do it

Our Perfumery & Beauty business unit is home to a dedicated LCA team, supported by the collective experience and expertise of other smart folks from around our organization. This collaboration helps us keep our methodologies up to date, implement new technologies, and monitor results across the board. After all, our ambitions are high: we want to not only meet but exceed environmental standards, setting a benchmark for sustainability practices within our industry.

Knowledge is power

LCA data gives us the knowledge to power change and empower our value chain. Since it is an industry-wide methodology, we not only continuously refine our own strategies, but also collaborate with peers and partners to collectively drive the transformation we need and formulate a future that smells sweeter than ever.
